AI 2027
AI 2027 is a set of scenarios that have been put forth on where AI could be heading in the coming years, and it includes some very concerning scenarios. The authors are very well-respected, and are as capable of creating this viewpoint as anyone on earth, which makes this all the more concerning.
For example, Daniel Kokatajlo (one of the authors) wrote about the future of AI back in 2021, and reading back through his 2021 post sounds like it was written today — his predictions were quite good.
That said, the full AI 2027 document is very long and dense, and it’s a tough read to get through. Fortunately, Aric Floyd has distilled it all with a fantastic video that walks through the full scenarios.
As Aric shares, most of the disagreements from experts is not about what is going to happen, but simply the timeline for when we’ll get there. Things are likely to change exponentially quickly in the coming years, and these are some potential ideas of what that future might look like.
What do you think of the two scenarios laid out in this plan? Are either one of those our likely future?
