AI is impossible to master
If anyone has claimed to completely master AI, they’re either mistaken or lying. There are so many tools, with hundreds of new ones every day, and even the primary tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) add and remove features constantly. It’s literally impossible to keep up with it all. If you feel bad that you “can’t keep up”, just know that literally everyone else is in the same boat.
That’s not to say you shouldn’t work toward mastery. You’ll never get there, but the journey will make you a much more valuable worker. I’m always looking for people that are more knowledgeable than me (such as Adam, Chris, Sanjay, Jonathan, and hundreds of others) and I keep improving my skills a little bit each day.
In the past few weeks I’ve done more to get Claude Cowork connected to Obsidian (to help give me some framework for my book), worked on new ways to use Gemini in the browser (such as creating a featured image for this blog post while I type), and have been working with the new SEO tools in Lovable (to help get some of those sites to rank better). It’s been fantastic, but I know I’m still miles behind those four guys (and I’ll bet they can point to others that are far ahead of them).
None of us will ever completely master AI, but let’s enjoy the ride and continue to learn from one another.

I agree 💯with you. It changes probably at least weekly so being an expert is difficult at best. Plus if we say it takes 10,000 hours to truly master something, most people haven’t spent that amount of time on one AI platform. Just learn a little bit everyday and you can call yourself a practitioner, which is nothing to be ashamed about.
